Microsoft's 128GB Surface Pro will ship with just 83GB of usable space

Microsoft has revealed that the 128GB Surface Pro will ship with just 83GB of usable storage space. No word yet on how much space the 64GB version will arrive with but if the same 45GB is unavailable from the get-go, Microsoft may have a tough time convincing buyers to invest in a premium tablet with just 19GB of storage.
Redmond has yet to update their Surface storage FAQ to reflect Surface Pro figures. Instead, the company made the storage size admission to Softpedia in a recent statement, according to the publication. Microsoft is quick to point out, however, that Surface Pro tablets will come with a USB 3.0 port to connect external storage devices, a microSDXC card slot and 7GB of free space with SkyDrive.
You’d be correct in thinking this all sounds a bit familiar as Microsoft addressed similar issues late last year with Surface for Windows RT tablets. It was revealed at that time that 32GB versions of the tablet would only arrive with 16GB of usable disk space while the higher capacity 64GB model would have just 46GB of usable space on tap.
Microsoft is set to launch the new slates on February 9 starting at just $899. Surface Pro will come pre-installed with a full version of Windows 8 Pro as well as a beefier third generation Intel Core i5 Processor with Intel HD Graphics 4000 and 4GB of RAM. Surface with Windows RT utilizes a quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 chip with just 2GB of system memory.

Google Glass could include built-in bone conduction headphones

Despite the fact that Google recently held a hackaton for Project Glass developers a few days ago in San Francisco and is hosting another event starting today in New York, we still don’t know an awful lot about the search giant’s augmented reality eyewear. One key question that remains unknown is how one would hear audio while wearing the headset.
Engadget believes they have solved this mystery thanks to a Federal Communications Commission filing for what is likely the Google Glass Explorer Edition, expected to ship to developers any day now. The publication found a reference to an integral vibrating element that provides audio to the user via contact with the user’s head – or what they believe to be bone conduction technology. After all, Google filed for a patent for such a device earlier this month that appeared to be attached to a pair of glasses.
The fact that the technology was detailed in the FCC write-up means they have deemed the product safe for human consumption. It also means that Google is likely getting ready to ship out early developer units to those that pre-ordered the $1,500 device more than six months ago.
As Dvice notes, bone conduction technology isn’t anything new but thus far, we haven’t really seen any consumer electronic devices use the technology that don’t look absolutely ridiculous. If Google Glass does indeed contain the tech in the prototypes we have seen, there is little doubt that they will change that negative image stigma.

BlackBerry released the BlackBerry 10 system, as well Z10/Q10 phones

The Canadian Research in Motion held a news conference in New York, and officially released the “Blackberry straw” BlackBerry 10 operating system (hereinafter referred to as BB10), at the same time they also released two phones Z10 and Q10 equipped with the BB10 operating system.
At the conference, the RIM CEO Thorsten Heins officially announced that the company would abandon the use of Research in Motion and be directly renamed as BlackBerry, currently this decision has been approved by the Board of Directors, and Heins thinks that changing its name can make the BlackBerry company better promotion the BB10 system as well as phone products.
The new BB10 operation system is based on the QNX, which is completely different from BlackBerry previous mobile operating system, so you can not let your existing BlackBerry mobile upgraded to the latest BB10 system. The new system is more with the slide operation form, which has a very big difference with the past, but the BB10 system has very big advantage in running multiple programs.
Currently the BB10 has 70,000 applications and 12,000 are independently developed, Blackberry declared at the beginning of a new operating system release, there are more than 12,000 models of independent development software, and the BB10 is unprecedented.
BlackBerry Z10 is one of the two phones released at the conference, which has been multiply exposed before the press conference. The Z10 is with a 4.2-inch screen with a resolution 1280*768, the screen DPI reaches 356ppi. The Z10 body size is 130 × 66 × 9.3 mm, and it’s equipped with a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm S4 pro processor and 2GB RAM and 1800mAh lithium battery, it supports MicroSD card expansion, at the same time it also has NFC as well as a 8.0 megapixel camera.
As to the network, Z10 supports LTE 4G network in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, and it uses MicroSIM card. It will land in the market in Canada and the United Kingdom next week, the U.S. market will need to wait until March.

Vertu Ti exposed

Vertu is known with the luxury mobile phone and it has launched a variety of smartphones configured luxuriously, of course, the price is also very expensive, but they are all with the Nokia Symbian operating system. Recently, a new smart machine called the Vertu Ti appeared, unlike previous Vertu phone, this phone carries the Android operating system. According to media reports, the Vertu Ti internal model is RM-828V, which is very similar to the Nokia Lumia internal phone’s model. In terms of appearance, this phone still continues the tradition Vertu phone tough personality style. However, in the software aspects, this product is for the first time using the Android 4.0 operating system, and is expected to become Vertu’s first Android smartphone.
In the hardware configuration, the Vertu Ti has a WVGA (480 × 800 pixels) level touch screen, but the screen size is unknown, and it’s equipped with 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM8260 dual-core processor, and a 1250mAh battery , and it also supports Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and Wi-Fi function.
Vertu phones has always been know as luxury and high price, and the Vertu Ti Price is expected to be € 3,000, which is obviously the world’s most expensive Android smartphone.
It is worth mentioning that the Vertu company was part of Nokia (Nokia sold it in 2012) previously, at a sense Vertu Ti can also be seen as Nokia’s first Android smartphone, perhaps in the near future we will see the real Nokia Android product.
